My lessons are stage appropriate – shaped to the needs of the young person in front of me.
They are practical and engaging and use the interests of the tutee to contextualise the ideas and make them part of everyday life.
KEY STAGE 1
Reception to Year 2
For the youngest tutees, the focus is to (re-)discover the love of learning
through playful methods.
Year 2 SATs preparation is optional
KEY STAGE 2
Year 3 to Year 6
Fun and engagement is still at the heart of learning. A child’s interests
are the key to keeping them keen!
Year 6 SATs preparation is optional
KEY STAGES 3 & 4
These are the foundation years building towards successful GCSEs. Young people still need physical objects to support their learning as well as strategies to achieve the Maths and English tasks. These years are crucial to fill any gaps in their knowledge and (re-)build their confidence.
SATS and GCSEs
These lessons are practical and contextualised. They include exam strategies, revision preparation and organisation, and practice questions in addition to homework as appropriate.
All lessons include activities designed to stretch, support and empower the young person so they feel confident with the topics and themselves.
