FAQs
Does my child need a tutor?
Great question! Enquiring about a tutor is the first step. This gives you time to find the one that suits you best.
The benefits of 1-1 attention are enormous! A safe space to ask questions, have loads of practise and ideas that are designed to suit your child! Getting support early can reverse any loss of confidence more quickly and you will see your child blossom again.
Do I need to sign up for a minimum number of lessons?
When do I pay?
Each lesson must be paid for at the time of booking. Should you need to cancel, please give me 24 hours’ notice. A 50% cancellation fee does apply.
Can I have a trial lesson?
I offer a ‘Meet the teacher’ session which lasts an hour. This includes a 30-minute introductory lesson with your child, followed by feedback to parents and an action plan.
Help! My child’s got a level 2/3 in their GCSE mocks!
…And breathe! You’ve found my website. There is likely to be 20 weeks left before their first exam. Let’s have a chat to see how I can help.
It’s useful for me to:
- know the exam board
- look at any mock papers or school work books
- have a list of two or three areas that they are struggling with or want to work on first.
My child has additional needs
I have taught many children with the gifts of additional needs or who are uniquely able. Please contact me and we can chat through in confidence your child’s needs.
I work shifts and can’t come at a regular time
That’s fine. I have some sessions free to accommodate people which shifting lifestyles. Contact me and we can work out a timetable that suits us both.
How frequently should lessons occur?
This will depend on individual factors – available time, budget, other commitments and the urgency of the help needed. Let’s have a chat on 07790 404470.
Where do the lessons take place? Can parents/ carers stay?
The lessons usually take place at my house which is close to the centre of town. See the map.
Some parents like to wait in the living room for the first lesson, though most children prefer the privacy. Post-lesson feedback is always given.
If you would like lessons but cannot come to my house, we can discuss other options.
